OUR STORY

The Aveley Problem Is Distance

Aveley sits roughly 30 kilometres north-east of the Perth CBD in the City of Swan, and almost everything difficult about accessible transport here follows from that number. The suburb was developed through the 2000s and 2010s as a masterplanned community, most prominently Stockland's Vale at Aveley, which launched in 2004 and was planned for around 5,235 residential lots, and at the 2021 census it held 13,998 people with a median age of just 31. That young profile shapes our work: a large share of Aveley bookings are NDIS transport runs to school, therapy and day programmes rather than the aged care trips that dominate the older suburbs on our list.

The recurring frustration residents describe is not finding a vehicle in principle, it is finding one willing to commit to a long trip weeks in advance and then actually turn up. Because our bookings are held against a specific vehicle rather than released into a dispatch pool, that is the problem we were built to remove. Call 0483 926 000.

HOW WE WORK IN Aveley

What a Long Run From Aveley Actually Involves

The distances here change how a trip has to be planned rather than simply making it dearer. A morning clinic at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Nedlands, which shares a campus with Perth Children's Hospital, means departing Aveley well before most people would think necessary and travelling inbound at the worst possible time. St John of God Subiaco on Salvado Road is a similar proposition.

St John of God Midland, which opened in November 2015 as a public and private hospital under a partnership with the state government, is far closer and is where a good share of our local medical appointment transport actually goes. The Ellenbrook Line opened on 8 December 2024 with a station in the neighbouring town centre, and while that has transformed the corridor for independent travellers, it does nothing about the walk at either end, which is the part our passengers cannot manage. Distance also means the PTSS subsidy cap of $35 on a purple card gets reached on cross-city trips, so we quote before you travel rather than after.

Why choose us in Aveley

Why Aveley Families Book Us

Out here, reliability is worth more than a cheap fare, because a cancelled booking on a 30-kilometre run cannot be replaced at short notice. Your trip is committed to a specific vehicle and driver, so a specialist appointment booked a fortnight ago is still there on the morning. Drivers hold a current Western Australian passenger transport driver authorisation, are background-checked, and must undergo special courses and trainings, which are reviewed and upgraded on a regular basis.

Our vehicles carry certified ramps and hoists with four-point tie-downs, so you stay in your own chair for a long journey rather than transferring twice. For families running weekly therapy or day-programme trips, a standing booking with rehabilitation and therapy transport means the arrangement is set up once and then simply runs. Call 0483 926 000.

AREAS WE COVER IN Aveley

The Aveley Neighbourhoods We Serve

Aveley is largely a story of masterplanned releases, and we collect across all of them. The Vale at Aveley estate is the largest and most established, and its earlier streets now have mature verge planting and heavier on-street parking than the newer sections. The more recent releases carry the narrow lots and deep garage setbacks typical of current estate planning, which lengthens the distance between a front door and any point a vehicle can safely reach.

Because Aveley forms a continuous urban area with Ellenbrook, whose eight villages and town centre have grown since construction began in 1994 to around 25,000 residents, a great many of our trips cross freely between the two. We also run regularly to the streets near Ellenbrook station and across the wider north-east corridor. If your street sits on the boundary, call 0483 926 000 and we will confirm.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know about our Wheelchair Accessible Transport In Aveley

How much does wheelchair accessible transport cost from Aveley?

Aveley is where the PTSS cap matters most, because the distances are long enough to reach it. A purple PTSS card covers 75% of the fare up to a maximum $35 subsidy per trip, and a yellow card covers 50% up to $25, so on a short local run the subsidy takes out most of the cost while on a run into Nedlands or Subiaco the cap is hit and the balance is yours. That is not a reason to avoid the trip, it is a reason to get the estimate before you book. NDIS participants can generally draw these journeys from their Core Supports transport budget instead. Call 0483 926 000 with the destination and we will price it properly.

How early do I need to leave Aveley for a morning hospital appointment?

Earlier than most people expect, and this is the single most common cause of a missed appointment out here. At 30 kilometres north-east of the CBD, Aveley is a long run to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Nedlands or St John of God Subiaco, and a morning clinic time means travelling through the worst of the inbound traffic. We book backwards from the appointment rather than forwards from when you would like to leave, and we add your actual loading time rather than a generic allowance. St John of God Midland is much closer and considerably easier. Tell us the appointment time and we will tell you the pickup time.

Does the Ellenbrook train line help if I use a wheelchair?

It helps some people and not others, and it is worth being honest about which. The Ellenbrook Line opened on 8 December 2024 with a station in the Ellenbrook town centre next door, and for anyone who can independently manage a platform and the walk at both ends it has genuinely improved this corridor. What it does not solve is the first and last part of the journey, which is precisely the part our passengers cannot do. A station is not a clinic door. Plenty of our Aveley bookings come from addresses within a few minutes of the line for exactly that reason.

Do you cover Ellenbrook, Dayton and the surrounding estates?

Yes. Aveley forms a continuous urban area with Ellenbrook, which has grown since building started in 1994 into a community of around 25,000 people across eight villages, and we work throughout it. Our listed suburbs are the ones we serve most regularly rather than a hard boundary. If you are on the fringe of this corridor, the sensible thing is to call and ask rather than assume we will not come. Call 0483 926 000 and we will tell you straight away.

Do you carry NDIS participants and school-age children in Aveley?

Yes, and with a median age of 31 at the 2021 census, Aveley generates more of this work than almost anywhere else we cover. Standing weekly bookings to therapy, school and day programmes are the usual arrangement, set up once and then left alone rather than rebooked every week. We invoice self-managed and plan-managed plans and itemise everything so a plan manager can process it first time. Where a child is travelling, we will confirm the seating and restraint arrangement with you before the first trip rather than on the day.

What if my powerchair is large or heavy?

Tell us the approximate width, length, seated height and weight when you first book, because this is the detail that decides which vehicle we send. Tall backrests, headrests and tilt-in-space frames can bring your seated height close to a vehicle's internal clearance, and heavy powerchairs can approach the ramp's safe working load, which we will not exceed. We would far rather confirm the fit in advance than have a vehicle turn up and be useless to you, particularly on a long run from Aveley where there is no quick second attempt. Once you tell us, we record it and every future booking goes out correctly.
